Air Lift AirLift 1000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2016 Dodge Durango

Today on our 2016 Dodge Durango, we're going to be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs for coil springs for the rear axle. Whenever we're hauling a heavy load with our Durango, whether it's a trailer or we have the back full of passengers, pets, and all sorts of gear, you'll notice that the back end's going to drop down. Well, that's putting a lot of strain and stress on our rear suspension, not to mention it's actually affecting the front, because when the back end goes down, it'll pull the front end up, which is going to misalign our headlights, cause some rear tire wear issues, and if they're not contacting the road as well, which means our steering and brake needs can be diminished as well. But that's where our air bags are going to help out. They're going to keep the back end where it should be, nice and level, which will put the front back where it should be and resolve a lot of those issues of braking, steering, and our tire wear. Here's what Air Helper Springs look like once we have them installed. These are here to help support the rear suspension whenever we're loaded down with a trailer or a lot of gear in the back. more

Air Lift AirLift 1000 Rear Air Helper Springs Installation - 2015 Dodge Durango

Kevin: Today, on our 2015 Dodge Durango, we're gonna show you how to install the Air Lift 1000 Air Helper Springs. These are for the rear; designed to fit right into the coil springs. Part number is AL60824.Now the problem we hope to solve with the air bags is the vehicle squat that we get when we've got either a full load of people in the vehicle, the rear end kinda sags; maybe we're haulin' a trailer. You'll see as we bring the weight down on, the rear of the vehicle is gonna come down causing that squat. Now with about 200 pounds of tongue weight there on the back of the vehicle, we've actually had about an inch of squat here in the rear. So, this distance has been reduced quite a bit. more
